Beautifully puckered, silver leaves with green veining

If you’re looking for something special to illuminate your garden spaces with color and texture, our Lunar Lights™️ Series of Begonias is guaranteed to please. Large, palmate-shaped leaves in a wide array of patterns will become placeholders in warmer climates from the Carolinas to the Gulf Coast and all along the West Coast of the U.S. Beginning in May, sprays of delicate, bright-colored flowers in hues of pink, red and salmon – depending on the variety - rise above the foliage on strong stems and continue their performance until frost. Perennial from zone 7-9, these beauties produce generous clumps that increase in size over time. For those of you who live in colder regions, Lunar Lights™ Begonias also make magnificent container plants for the deck or patio.

The first in this new series, ‘Sterling Moon', which was bred and selected by our good friend Ozzie Johnson in Atlanta, Georgia, has puckered, forest-green leaves that are frosted with silver and mint-green flecking, leaving an unforgettable memory during a moonlit stroll on a steamy summer evening. Ozzie's breeding goal was to have zone 7 (at least) hardy plants with attractive, textured leaves and strikingly colored, large flowers.  The salmon-pink flowers on Sterling Moon play nicely with young leaves, which are highlighted by a touch of pink. An ideal selection to mix in a somewhat shady perennial border.
