Like 'Jack Frost', but so much better

Brunnera macrophylla 'Sea Heart'

The foliage on this new brunnera is as thick as cardboard and it holds up way better in the heat and humidity of summer. The blooms on this new selection are two-toned - pink and blue.

When we planted this side by side with the selection and perennial plant of the year for 2012 - 'Jack Frost', we noticed two things.  Sea Heart held up much better to the heat and humidity of the Mid-Atlantic and it flowered bout a week to two weeks early with a lovely two-toned bloom.  If you've always wanted a brunnera in your garden, this brunnera is for you - even if you live somewhere where the summers are hot and humid.  It holds up well and keeps going well into fall till a good hard frost takes it out. The other great attribute we noticed last summer is that other Brunnera are affected by foliar nematodes and 'Sea Heart' and 'Silver Heart' are NOT.  We think the foliage is so thick and hariy that the nematodes can not burrow through.  Time will tell : )

Please note: We don't sell plants. Asking your local retailer or googling the plant name is the easiest way to find someone selling our plants.
