Angela and Linda’s Garden Notes:

Its no wonder Weigela has a place on the favorites list of all around best flowering shrubs. In late spring, their lovely arching branches are blanketed with trumpet-like flowers from the ground to the tips of every stem, attracting the first hummingbirds of the year to the garden.  And with this new breeding from Plants Nouveau, the Magical Series will flower all season long! A medium sized variety Magical White will make an excellent addition to the mixed border, or as a specimen in full sun to part shade.

It’s easy to see why Weigela was a favored landscape shrub for Grandma, and still rates on the top of the list today. A true performer, these adaptable plants offer months of flower power – especially now with our new repeat bloomers! Funnel-shaped flowers are particularly attractive to hummingbirds, and long, arching stems provide a handsome architectural element to the mixed border.

This is a fast growing shrub with a gracefully arching habit. Guaranteed to add season-long color, it’s one of the first plants hummingbirds come to in the spring. The profusion of repeat blooming white flowers make this new selection one that ranks far above those used by Grandma.  Magical White is happiest in full sun in the northern states to part shade in coastal regions.
